IGL Quick Wash
Sunday Wash Club
A guide to our IGL quick wash, well what else would you be doing on a Sunday ?
Let’s start with the dirtiest part of the vehicle! We do this first to avoid any abrasive brake dust making its way on the sensitive clear coat and less swirls means more gloss!
WHEELS
Pressure rinse wheels, tyres and arches to remove loose debris and allow cleaners to work better.
Spray IGL IRON on the alloy wheels and IGL MULTI in wheel arches and onto tyres
Agitate! Get in amongst it with a variety of brushes and mitts
Rinse and you have clean wheels and arches.
PRE WASH
A very important step and a step we have covered pretty well with IGL BLIZZARD and IGL MULTI.
Pressure rinse paint, take your time, get into them nooks and crannies
Apply IGL BLIZZARD to the full vehicle through a foam lance and please … just appreciate that smell and cleaning power! (If your vehicle is extremely dirty then apply IGL multi to the paint and snow foam over the top)
Allow to dwell for two to three minutes before pressure rinsing off
CONTACT WASH
Grab two buckets and fill with warm water before adding a couple of squirts of IGL WASH to one bucket and activate the shampoo by firing your pressure washer into the bucket. You’re good to wash!
Working a panel at a time, dunk your wash mitt into the IGL WASH bucket and wash one panel using straight lines only! No circles or we will shout at you.
Dunk mitt into clean water bucket to clean the mitt before repotting step one until the car is complete
Pressure rinse off the suds and you will notice some beading straight away from IGL WASH.
DRYING
This is where most people scratch their paint … don’t be that person. You have two options here as below
Using an air blower tool to remove water or
Two sprays of IGL ENHANCER into a drink towel and wipe over the paint panel by panel. This adds lubrication, gloss and immense beading
FINISHING TOUCHES
Lets be honest if your doing this on a Sunday you want to stay outside with your pride and joy that bit longer instead of going in to face the inevitable housework … so don’t worry we have you covered
Fold a microfibre towel into four, two sprays of IGL Glass into the towel, wiper over the glass, flip to dry side and buff off residue
Grab a microfibre applicator or foam applicator and stick a bead of IGL TYRE on there wipe in to the tyre for a deep black look
Grab another microfibre towel and fold into four, two sprays of IGL ENHANCER into the towel and wipe over a panel using straight lines only! Just incase you did not get the hint earlier
Flip towel to dry side and remove residue
Finally do the same with a separate towel dedicated just for your alloys, we don’t like any cross contamination here.
Now the most important step … take two steps back, have a look at your pride and joy and make a slightly strange noise such as ohhhh look at that! Grab a few photos and tag us @iglcoatings_
